Equipment
One or more medium-sized
fruits. You may substitute similar items such as a green pepper or a
tennis ball. Using a watermelon or pumpkin is discouraged.
Setup
None.
Rules
of Play
Form the players into a
line. The player at one end places the fruit under his/her jaw, and holds
the fruit in place by moving his/her head downward. The object is to pass
the fruit from one player to the next, with each holding it only under
their chins, and without using hands or any other objects. If the fruit
drops to the floor, the one or two people involved in the pass perform a
penalty, and then become the first two people in line when the game
restarts.
Variants
Race Variant: With enough people, divide the players into two or more
"teams" of six or so people. The teams then race to be the first to get
the object down the line to the last member of their team.
Gymnastic Variant: Same as the regular game, except that the fruit is
held between one's thighs. Except for very nimble people, passing the
fruit will usually involve lying on the floor.
